Special Effects
We recently had a special effects class with one of our tutors, Christina Nerland. I really really enjoyed it. We did the class in Animate (also a software I really like, it’s nice to use Adobe programs as I am familiar with the interface and keyboard shortcuts, and Animate in general seems like a simple and a relatively intuitive program to use. One final thing I also really like about Animate is that it’s a vector software. It’s nice to work away from the problematic world of pixels). Anyway, I really enjoyed the special effects class. We followed along to make a water like visualisation splash/ move across the screen. I enjoyed it so much because it was such a relaxing experience to work with something so fluid and forgiving, you can’t really do anything wrong when animating this kind of thing. (Compared to a human/dog/horse etc, who all have complicated skeletons and if you get anything wrong or out of place it’s instantly noticeable). I would really like to do more of this kind of thing in the future.
